Gere Attila Winery
The own wines of the family winery, are distributed under the name of GERE. Basic Wines gives the lighter, fruitier wines of our portfolio. These are distributed with color, youthful labels. Stepping higher on the pyramid the more serious Estate Wines come which we mark with elegant, white and black labels. On the top there are our 3 Top Wines (Kopar, Solus, Attila) which receive totally unique labels, since each of them are individual personalities.
Fresh, youthful, fruity white sparkling wine, which intensively brings the noses and tastes characteristic to the basic variety. We carburize the basic wine with pleasant carbon dioxide at the time of bottling. Excellent summer drink, we recommend to serve it chilled.
In its nose fresh, young and clean fruity rosé wine, which we refresh with creamy carbon dioxide at the moment of bottling. The sufficient acid content gives the wine a nice playfulness which couples with good taste intensity. Light, aerial wine with nice aftertaste.
Traditional variety of the wine region. The wine can thank its real beauty for the grape which was harvested with high must level. Wine with fruity, characteristic citrus, grapefruit aroma and has fine acids. Made by reductive technology with noses and tastes characteristic to the variety.
The typical variety of Villány wine region. Smooth, silky and really fruity red wine in which the primary nose and aroma of the grape dominate. Easily drinkable, fresh, pleasant red wine. Do not age it for long time since it is best to drink fresh.
Amazing red wine with spicy character and fresh acids. Kékfrankos gives fresh acids and character, Cabernet Sauvignon gives spiciness, and Portugieser gives fruitiness and kindness.
This wine is also famous about its fruitiness and this is surrounded nicely a nice spiciness. In its taste it is ripe and round, its tannin is silky, acids are playful. The chocolate tones supplemented with milk caramel, and end with a nice long fruity aftertaste.
One of the typical varieties of Villány which gives great red wines. This is a more filigrane variety which spends 16 months in great oak barrels. Full bodied but also elegant, pleasant red wine.
Cabernet Sauvignon barrique
This is a full bodied interpretation of the variety. In its nose it is characterized by variegation: beside of various fruits the smokiness of the wood also appears nicely due to the longer barrique ageing. Full bodied, complex wine, with long aftertaste. Can be aged well.
The harvest of our young plantation in Konkoly slope. We wanted to create a fruity, full bodied style red wine. The ripe tannins, the thick texture, the amazing spiciness and the elegant barrel marks due to the short ageing in 2nd filled barriques resulted in a really complex wine.
Villányi Franc Ördögárok vineyard
Villányi Franc is the embodiment of elegance and harmony. Thanks to the terroir, the perfectly ripe grapes, the strict selection and the barrique ageing, a special, rich and complex single vineyard wine was born with long ageing potential.
The emblematic top wine of the winery. Only made in the nicest years. From the selected materials from the best slopes of Villány (Kopár, Csillagvölgy, Konkoly, Ördögárok). The wine is the blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. We age it in barrique for 16-18 months as average.
The emblematic Merlot wine of the winery, which is only made from the grapes of Kopar slope only in the best years. The meaning of Solus is unique, which refers the unique, special entity of the wine. We wanted to make such a wine which can be compared to the greatest wines of the world.
The essence of the winery, which is a special barrel selection. Selected from the nicest new barriques of the winery it is a limited wine specialty. It contains all the values of the Villányi wine region. Deepness, complexity, concentration and elegance. It has a great ageing potential.
The wines of the Villányi winery which is mutually owned with Franz Weninger Austrian wine maker. These are distributed with a label family which has own design. The wines are made by Gere family, so in the oenology and wine making philosophy there are no differences to GERE wines. The difference lurks in the plantations. Fresh, young wine with fruity tones. Its basic variety is Kékfrankos. It shows its real beauty when consuming in 1 year after the harvest. It is characterized by fresh, ripe fruits’ intensive aromas. Beside its silky, creamy texture it has still a certain acid spine. Beloved company of friendly talks.
The history of Gere-Weninger winery started with this wine in 1992. Blend of Kékfrankos, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Portugieser, Merlot. In its nose ripe forest fruits dominate, which is supplemented by the smokiness of the barrel ageing in its taste. Mild, middle body wine, which conquers with its elegance.
This wine is the harvest of Ördögárok-slope. Extremely elegant wine, which is fruity either in its taste and nose. A real Villányi Pinot Noir style: with hot, sunny tastes and noses, which shows all beauties of the variety and the terroire genuinely.
This wine is the harvest of the wonderful Ördögárok. Only made out of Tempranillo grape which is a typical variety of Spain. The wine received Tinta (Ink) name after its really dark color. It allures to taste with its deep, spicy nose. Rich in its taste and has certain tannins.
Villányi Franc - Csillagvölgy dűlő
The iconic variety of the wine region, which created a really unique style in Villány. The top wine of Gere-Weninger winery, which is made out of the grapes comes only from Csillagvölgy slope. It is an extremely rich, deep, various wine, which shows the cavalcade of spices and fruits either in its nose and taste. Positively appropriate for ageing.
In 2010 Attila Gere and Vilmos Schubert established a mutual winery in Villány. The aim was to create fresh, fruity – but also matterful – wines from the excellent grapes of the wine region. The selection of the winery is given by reductive, light, aerial wines made in steel tanks. The majority of the are white and rosé wines. This Sauvignon Blanc is the fresh, young fruitiness itself. In its nose elder and exotic citrus appear which is supplemented by freshness and balance in the mouth. It can be excellent company for salads and cold foods on the temperature of 10-12 °C.
One of the highlighted members of our portfolio is characterized by the conventional young fruity freshness and high nose intensity. It is made on the peel with cold soaking and reductive technology. In the odorous wine exotic citrus’ nose and taste marks dominate. It shows its best face when chilled to 10-12 °C.
Our Irsai Olivér wine is characterized by flowery marks and mild smokiness. In the mouth the mild and full tastes appear in the same time. Due to the cold soaking before pressing and the reductive technology this wine is fruity, young, and fresh. Serve chilled. Can be the perfect company for friendly talks and meetings.
Discover our Olaszrizling wine from the slopes of the Villányi wine region, which offers a really special experience with its fruity gust. In its nose white flowers, in its taste almond dominate. In the mouth it has a long, aromatic aftertaste. Excellent for salads and white meats. Serve chilled, on 10-12 Celsius.
Rosé wine which is made out of the early harvested Kékfrankos, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc grapes of the Villány wine region. Fermented in steel tank on controlled temperature. In its nose red berries and mandarin, in the mouth full and vigorous sensations.
In company or single this Merlot is an excellent partner for leisure. In its taste it is light but still brings characteristic fruity, silky merlot nose and taste marks, which remind to the taste of fresh blackberry and blackcurrant.
Unlike the common characteristics this Cabernet sauvignon brings fruitiness and smooth full body in itself. Its color is vigorous ruby red, which is accompanied by fine, youthful nose and gust. Serve mildly chilled on 16-18 oC for wild dishes, stews.
